Birds on Maple Branch

This type of card is the most ancient of Japanese greeting cards. Passed down from the 11th century, these thick, square cards were originally meant for writing a poem or drawing a picture on. They are called "Shikishi."
The surface is gold leaf with a simple, beautiful moment captured elegantly. I think this makes a wonderful keepsake for yourself or for a friend.

4¾" x 5½". 1/8" thick.
Asahido Cards.
