On Saturday night, we headed out to South Pasadena to set up a little Ginko Papers booth at the Common Rally Fair. It was a great night with nice vendors, good people, and even an animal photographer. There were a lot of cute furry friends roaming about! This was perfect because the event was also raising awareness and donations for the Pasadena Humane Society. A very good cause!
Here's an article about the event.
Also some photos of out booth:

Here are some photos of the Halloween pumpkins seen on the Today Show using our Japanese Masking Tape.
They used the Candy Colored Yellow/Purple set, the Lace & Bows Black set, and the Lace Gold set.
Try to make you own and email me your photos!!
Today was exciting. Let me tell you how it happened and you tell me what you think...
1. Mina started child care at UCLA! She loved it and had a very good first day.
Here we are in class this morning before saying our goodbyes...and there were no tears!!
2. Ginko Papers was mentioned on the Today Show during Kathie Lee and Hoda's segment - Halloween No-Carve Pumpkins!
They used our masking tape to decorate Halloween pumpkins. I'll add more photos later, but here is the segment photo on their website - "Halloween made Stylish and 'Simple'."
3. We are mentioned in the November issue of Traditional Home magazine.
They used our masking tape to decorate the party invitations used in the story. Here's the insert.
All in all, a good day!
PS. If you've not yet tried the Japanese masking tape, what can I say...try it, you won't be disappointed!
I love getting mail. That's no surprise considering I've started a stationary web-shop...right? The sad thing is, I hardly get any fun mail.
I have some darling customers that sometimes surprise me with a letter (thanks Mary!) or a handmade gift (thanks Arleen!). Trust me, those bits of mail sustenance go a long way.
Yesterday, was a lucky mail day.
I grabbed the bunch of letters and circulars in my mailbox and found something heavy on the bottom. There it was, a big white envelope addressed to me at Ginko Papers.
"Interesting," I thought, as I tore along the top of the envelope, "What could it be?"
I pulled out the Fall/Winter copy of Better Homes and Gardens Storage magazine. "Storage?" I wondered. There was no note, no letter, no marking of any kind. Just a brand new magazine and a mystery. So I carefully flipped through it and finally came upon this...A wonderful way of using the Japanese masking tape to categorize your bins with. Have fun with the tape everyone!
Here are the photos:
Masking tape galore! I visited our masking tape vendor's booth and found some new items that are going to hit the Japan store shelves next month. Of course, I placed an order for us too!
Until the shipment arrives, here are some photos to drool over.
Here I am with Aki. She takes great care of Ginko Papers!
Tokyo here I come!
The Tokyo Gift Show is big, crazy, fast paced, colorful, and wonderful. At the end of the first day, my feet are throbbing. It's been at least four hours now that I've been at the hotel and off my poor feet, but they still complain. I hate to tell them about tomorrow...
Here's the entrance to the show. (I'll try some interiors tomorrow, despite the no camera signs.)
The Gift Show was wonderful. I made new friends, met new customers, and best of all, I still love all my products! I forgot how nice it feels being surrounded by stationary. My temporary Ginko Papers shop made me remember that again.
After four wonderful days, I was honored on the last day of the show when I received the "Outstanding Exhibitor Award" for 2010 by the CA Gift Show committee. What a surprise!
Here are some photos of the booth and of me with the award.
See you soon Gift Show, it was a pleasure being with you this past week!
It's the end of the first setup day at the California Gift Show.
Our walls are covered in a pretty raffia material. Our shelves are all lined up. Our jute rug is in place. Our banners our hanging.
Oh, all the products! Wait until tomorrow and you'll see what the final booth looks like with all our wonderful items in place.
I love this photo and I wanted to share it with you. See how much Mina has grown?
Soon she'll be packing orders for me and writing all my emails...Just give me a few years!
